It’s nice to meet you.

My name is Megan Day. I am an individual and couples therapist.

Psychotherapy is a second career for me. I was a Genetic Counsellor for 15 years and worked in some of Ontario’s best hospitals. I struggled with my mental health after having my children. At the age of 39 and during the pandemic, I decided to make a career change and the stars aligned so I went back to school to do my Master’s in Couple and Family Therapy. It was challenging, however it was the best decision I could have made. I appreciate this work and my clients every day.

Outside of therapy sessions, I embrace the roles of parent and partner. I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, working out, and being outside in nature hiking, biking, and walking my dog.

What Therapy is Like

From our first moment of contact you can expect a therapeutic experience that blends professional expertise with a down-to-earth, relatable approach.

First session are often more structured, as I am asking questions to learn about you, your life, your family/relationship and your goals for therapy. I hold you as the expert of your own life, therefore we collaborate to determine what it is you want to focus on in therapy.

It’s not uncommon to feel burdened by societal norms and expectations. Within our sessions, I create a nurturing environment to examine how systems of oppression impact your individual journey.

In my work I integrate several therapeutic models and my training background primarily consists of Dialogic Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Relational Life Therapy (RLT).

If you haven’t gone to therapy before, or if you are interested in learning a bit more about what to expect, let’s chat. Our first 15-minute conversation is free of cost or pressure.

Who I Work With

As a Registered Psychotherapist with a Masters in Couple and Family Therapy, I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating the often complex ups and downs of life. I specialize in navigating the beautiful world of RELATIONSHIPS!

Whether you are a blended family striving to work together more peacefully, a couple new to non-monogamy and wishing to approach that with intention and care, an adult in midlife just starting to understand their sexuality, a new parent adjusting to life with baby or a parent doing their best to raise a child with special or complex needs, I tailor my approach to the unique dynamics at play.

I approach my work with a commitment to embrace diverse identities and experiences. My services are supportive and inclusive of cultural, gender, political, religious and sexual diversity.

Together, we’ll work to re-write old patterns, play into your natural strengths, and cultivate deep connection—because everyone deserves support and a fresh start.‍ ‍
